Peg-150 pentaerythrityl tetrastearate Cleansing Thickener CAS NO 130249 48 8
OILREE® MYPT99-150 is a semi transparent to white granular thickener, mainly composed of high molecular weight
Peg 150 pentaerythrityl tetrastearate, specially adapted for mild surfactant cleaning systems such as amino acids. Its polyethylene glycol skeleton structure is very distinctive, and it can expand controllably in water environment. Even if added in small amounts, it can steadily increase the viscosity of the formula. When heated, it can be evenly dispersed to form a smooth and coherent mesh structure, making the formula more textured, flowing, and preventing delamination. It is very suitable for making sulfate free and low irritation cleansing products.
Functional performance
After adding it to the surface active substrate, it will slowly absorb water to form a continuous polymer structure, which can increase viscosity and make the skin feel more intense. Unlike traditional amide thickeners, it does not have to worry about nitrosamine related issues and can stably function over a wide pH range. This polymer network can also assist in suspending conditioning agents, pigments, and pearl additives, while possessing stable shear thinning properties - it is easier to push open when applied, and it is also clean when rinsed without residue. So it is suitable for high-end cleaning products that require stability, transparency, or want a thick and creamy texture.
Application scenarios
MYPT99-150 can be used in amino acid shampoo, sulfate free shower gel, facial cleanser, and high-end gel cream conversion system that needs to control viscosity. It can make the structure of foam more uniform, the uniformity of the formula is better when filling, and it can also increase the luster and thickness of the product, making the appearance more outstanding. It is granular, with less dust during production and clean operation, making it particularly suitable for large-scale industrial production. If paired with lightweight moisturizers or silicon free conditioning additives, it can make the skin and hair smoother after washing, and the application experience will also be better.
Formula Guide
The recommended addition amount is between 1% and 5%, and the specific amount depends on the desired viscosity effect and surface active concentration. It should be added to the aqueous or surface active phase, heated until completely dispersed, and then homogenized for the best thickening effect. Whether it is a transparent or opaque system, it can function stably, even if there are temperature fluctuations during storage. Moreover, it has excellent compatibility with amino acid surfactants, predictable thickening effect, and is more worry free when adjusting the formula.
