PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate is a nonionic emulsifier with both emollient and surfactant effects. It is a yellow paste with a faint fatty odor and an HLB value of about 15. It is an oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier. It can remain stable in the pH range of 4.0 to 8.5 in the formula. Its preparation process is a unique nonionic emulsifier made from natural glucose as the starting material. When used with GLUCOSS, it forms a pair of complementary emulsifiers with better safety and emulsification performance than commonly used emulsifiers. It is non-irritating to the eyes and skin. The emulsion prepared with this emulsifier pair can be stored for five years or even longer, and the appearance remains delicate and bright. The usual addition ratio is between 1% and 5%.
Application Scenarios
With its amphiphilic molecular structure, it can be well arranged at the water-oil interface, thereby enhancing the stability of the emulsion. In skin creams, it provides a smooth feel; in sunscreens, it helps disperse UV filters evenly; in cleansers, it cleanses gently while reducing residue. This emulsifier performs well in both cold and hot processing conditions, refining emulsion particles and promoting overall absorption, making it widely used in a variety of formulation types.
Key Benefits
One of its key benefits is its versatility, playing the role of emulsifier, stabilizer and skin conditioner at the same time. As a non-ionic ingredient, it is mildly irritating and is ideal for sensitive skin and baby care products. It works synergistically with auxiliary emulsifiers such as fatty alcohols, glyceryl stearate SE, and natural oils to help formulate sustainable products that meet the concept of "clean beauty". And we will undergo rigorous quality testing before leaving the factory to ensure its performance and safety.
