Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate for W/O Emulsions CAS NO 56491 53 3
How It's Engineered
Polyglyceryl-4 Isosterate is a plant derived nonionic surfactant designed specifically for water in oil (W/O) systems and can serve as the primary
Emulsifier. Its HLB value is about 5-6, which can be easily dispersed in mineral oil, silicone, vegetable oil and other oils, but insoluble in water; It can maintain stability at high temperatures of 80-90 ℃ and pH range of 4.0-8.5, and has high reliability in cosmetics production. The standard raw material is 24 kg/drum and 190 kg drum. The recommended addition amount is 2.5-4% of the total formula. You can refer to this range when purchasing and adjusting the formula.
What Makes It Perform
This emulsifier has high water in oil emulsification efficiency, even if the oil phase ratio exceeds 50%, it can create a smooth and stable system, and can also make the product stable for a long time without delamination, giving it a unique "bright white" appearance. It is derived from glycerol and isostearic acid, naturally mild and PEG free. You can rest assured of its safety when using it in sensitive skin and baby care products; The branched structure can also reduce the sense of heaviness, making the finished product smooth and non greasy. If combined with auxiliary emulsifiers such as POLYGLYCERYL-3 DIISOSTEARATE, you will find that the product has stronger tolerance to electrolytes (such as sodium chloride and magnesium sulfate) and a wider range of application scenarios.
Practical Applications
Polygeryl-4 Isosterate can stably emulsify over a wide pH range, has good compatibility with commonly used oils, silicones, and UV filters, and can optimize skin feel by reducing greasiness and improving application extensibility. With stable performance and gentle skin friendly characteristics, you can easily obtain high-quality emulsifier choices in innovative formulas for skincare and makeup emulsification systems.
