OSMFACT ®  MY2231I (BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, 80%) is a high-purity cationic surfactant, formulated with isopropanol solvent system, specially designed for high-end hair care products and cream formulations. This solid-liquid mixture has found a unique balance between emulsification, adhesion, and skin feel, achieving a smooth combing and soft silky final effect regardless of the type of hair. The long chain of shanyu group it contains can bring deep conditioning and strong film-forming effects, while the quaternary ammonium salt group ensures excellent compatibility with fatty alcohols and non-ionic auxiliary emulsifiers.

Mechanism of Action
The conditioning power of behentrinium chloride comes from its long-chain cationic structure, which generates electrostatic adsorption force with negatively charged areas on the surface of hair. This molecular level binding can enhance lubrication effects, reduce hair surface friction, and repair rough hair scales caused by chemical treatment or mechanical damage. When used in combination with Amino silicone emulsion, it can produce a synergistic conditioning effect while improving the combing of wet and dry hair, making the hair more shiny and smooth. Its stable performance in alcohol systems also makes the production process more flexible, and can be adapted to processes such as cold mixing and melt emulsification.

OSMFACT ®  MY2231I is suitable for washing hair conditioner, wash free hair care products, and deep repair cream for normal to coarse and hard hair and damaged hair after chemical treatment. It can help to form a uniform cream texture and create a rich and dense texture favored by professional salon level formulas. In addition to the field of hair care, it also has excellent performance in fabric care products, bringing a soft touch and anti-static effect, and has a wide range of uses in personal care and home care product lines.

Formula and processing points
The typical addition amount is between 1% and 4%, which can be adjusted according to the desired conditioning strength and product viscosity. When preparing the oil phase, it can be directly mixed with fatty alcohols such as cetearyl alcohol and cetearyl alcohol. The presence of isopropanol ensures good solubility and dispersibility, making the production process smoother and ensuring stable and consistent performance between batches. MY2231I can remain stable within a wide pH range of 4-7, and even if there are residual electrolytes and anions in the system, it will not affect its functional performance.
