OSMFACT® MY1631E is a 70% active content solution of cetrimonium chloride and ethanol. It appears as white paste like white particles with high transparency and is particularly easy to dry. Ethanol as a carrier not only allows it to dissolve better, but also pairs well with alcohol formulations. If you don't want to add water to the product and want a lightweight texture, choosing it is very suitable. It has cationic properties and can firmly adhere to hair scales, making hair comb smoothly and easy to manage, without leaving a heavy or greasy residue. The conditioning effect is mild but very obvious, especially suitable for making products for fine and soft hair or hair that is easily crushed. In the pH range of 5.5-8, the stability of the formula is very good, and it can be flexibly used for both personal care and hygiene products.
How is the conditioning effect achieved?
The advantage of cetrimonium chloride lies in its ability to neutralize negative charges on hair fibers, forming a thin cationic membrane that can smooth out hair scales and reduce static accumulation. In this way, the hair feels softer to the touch, does not tangle when combed, and the frizz can be significantly reduced. Ethanol substrate can also accelerate the drying speed, making the film coating more uniform. This advantage is particularly prominent when making non wash products or quick drying formulas. In multiphase mixtures, it can also coexist well with conditioning polymers such as non-ionic emulsifiers and ammonium acrylate copolymers, ensuring that the texture of the entire formula remains uniform and stable.
Where can it be used? How is the effect?
This ingredient is specially designed for a mild conditioning system, such as hair spray, wash free conditioner and light cream. After using it, the hair can immediately become smooth without collapsing, and it can maintain a natural fluffy feeling. In addition to personal care, it can also be added to the anti-static spray of fabrics or fibers - after all, the characteristics of fast drying and little residue are also often used in these scenes.
How to use it in the formula?
The recommended amount of active ingredient is between 1.0-3.0%, and the specific amount depends on the formula type and desired conditioning strength. It can be added during the cooling stage, or poured directly into the alcohol formula and gently stirred. To achieve good results, remember not to mix it with strong anionic surfactants, otherwise it will affect its cationic activity.
