Core Function
THICION ® MY905 is a high-performance water-based thickener designed specifically for various cosmetics and personal care formulations. Acrylamide and ammonium acrylate copolymer are dispersed in cosmetic grade mineral oil and Laureth-7 is added as a stable surfactant. Its appearance is milky white liquid, and the content of active substances is 61%. It can play a powerful thickening role with only a low amount of addition, so that face cream and lotion can form a smooth and stable texture. In addition, it also has additional skin conditioning effects - it can reduce product stickiness, improve application extensibility, while maintaining good water solubility, and has excellent compatibility in different formulation environments.
Comparative Advantages
Compared with traditional rheological modifiers, THICION ® MY905 performs better in terms of alkali resistance, water resistance, and resistance to repeated mechanical stress. The acrylamide and ammonium acrylate copolymer can maintain the viscosity of the product for a long time without phase separation; And mineral oil components can bring a more delicate skin feel. Unlike some traditional thickeners that are prone to residue or flaking after drying, the paste formed by this system has a uniform appearance and can avoid surface peeling problems. At the same time, the addition of lauryl alcohol polyether -7 enhances the emulsification effect and ensures the uniform dispersion of pigment and active ingredients, which is particularly prominent in face cream, lotion and hair care product matrices.
Safety Precautions
THICION ® The production of MY905 follows strict quality standards, and the residual amount of acrylamide monomer is controlled at ≤ 1 mg/kg, which meets safety requirements. Like all polymer thickeners, conventional industrial protective measures should be taken during operation, such as wearing gloves and goggles to avoid long-term skin contact. The product should be stored in a sealed container and kept away from light at room temperature to maintain stable performance. If it needs to be used in combination with high anionic surfactants, it is recommended to conduct compatibility testing first to prevent performance degradation. As long as the operation is standardized, it is still the preferred raw material for safe and efficient high-end cosmetic formulas.
